There are several reports of English residents not having succeeded to find employment, and having ended up unemployed for a 365 days or maybe more. Well-qualified people with several years of good work knowledge are finding themselves jobless after taking maternity-leave, study-leave, or being laid off, but instead of walking back into a good position, they’re fighting to rejoin the marketplace.

There are a number of factors why people are not able to find employment in the exceptionally cut-throat job market currently. The recession hit market means that you must compete more intelligently and harder to become triumphant.

Well, here is some advice to help those job seekers with their job search strategy. You must stick to a multi-faceted strategy to take care of lots of areas as is feasible while searching for work. Above all — use a great well written CV. Read up on line on the right way to compile a great Curriculum vitae and get a friend to read it for you and offer suggestions. Should you be happy to pay, you can also find expert CV Writers that you can email your Resume to for review and assessment.

While looking for work, search out jobs that match your skills and experience — do not apply to arbitrary places or for arbitrary roles with the idea of some thing coming off, rather concentrate on the ones that could be a good match for your skills and experience.

Sign up to job sites — these might be a hassle to subscribe with at the start, however it is worth the time because they will generally deliver though relevant jobs using the search criteria which you create when you sign up. There are lots of good job sites on linje including Reed, totaljobs etc.

Register with hiring agencies — try to look for providers which are specific to your business, because they as a rule have superior contacts with the local business owners in your chosen location and will continually be searching and for that reason in a position to recognize possibilities which could go well with you as soon as they arise. A mixture of the above is necessary to ensure that you have just about all your bases taken care of, as no one aspect is certain to get you a position.

Getting a modest enterprise off the ground is hard, insofar as there are plenty of jobs to be done, which needs the entrepreneur to be widely skilled and disciplined. Certainly one of the areas that the modest small business owner needs extensive knowledge is marketing, along side sales, finance and administration. These are jobs that ought to be accomplished by the entrepreneur every day if their company is to survive, primarily with the recession likely to continue into 2012 and beyond. Online advertising and marketing is one of those jobs that the owner needs to keep abreast of, with expertise in Search engine optimization, affiliate advertising, email marketing and advertising and Search engine marketing all skills that the company owner will have to have. Within marketing and advertising, the jobs needed by the owner is going to be to ensure that the site is nicely maintained, fresh, with new and excellent content regularly revised in an effort to maintain the shoppers happy.

As soon as your organization grows and it is possible to outsource several of the jobs that pile up, or when you feel which you are already in a position to outsource some of those jobs that you simply will need doing , then just run a job search against the industry from which you wish to hire someone to do the jobs you need undertaking, pay to run a job advert on a local jobsite and wait for the job seeker applications to come via the job site you decided to use. Naturally you can get a batch of Resumes from job seekers that applied for the job advertisement. You need to shortlist them and invite the very best job candidates for interview. As soon as you have found the ideal candidate, then simply put the terms of the vacancy to them and if they accept, you might have got your first employee. They are then able to help you with all the numerous jobs you may have, becoming a little business enterprise owner.

Recessions, SOX laws, targeting bankers, these are all old news in the global economy still reeling from the 2007 recession everyone blames the banks on. But lets look at 2012 and assess the state of the banking sector and its impact on the employment sector within it. Retail banking will never disappear — how can it, the economy as we understand it will fail as lending, capital, and cash flow will dry up.

Merchant banking is the area that the regulators are focusing on, saying that the merchant bank operations are where all of today’s big banking profits are coming from, though the question coming from this new discipline of financial engineering is this: what do they do for society. I will leave this question for those brighter than me to answer, and get back to the topic at hand — finance jobs. Where are the banking recruiting at the moment finance jobs figures are showing continued recruitment of senior IT professionals (Java, Online, sql), Quants ( finance engineering, stat’s, economics, math’s & MBA’s) — these 2 areas are continue to generate employment demand from banks, as both retail and commercial divisions look to consolidate on operations through IT streamlining and financial modeling.

If you are already from either of these backgrounds, then you will find getting work with banks as a contractor or perm, should not be a problem. If you are student or graduate, and wanting a job in banking these, are the sure-fire disciplines to get a banking job. Whatever your reason, the primary reason finance jobs are in such demand is naturally the money they pay. All my banking friends are always waiting for their bonus payment. That is all you ever hear them say. Where is my bonus cheque. When asking them how much they are getting, you soon realise why. They take home decent salaries, but their bonus cheque is what keeps them keen.

Finding jobs in marketing can be a tough one given that recruitment is now almost exclusively online and recruiters now rely on CVs being sent to them from job seekers they are not interested in meeting till they have seen their CV. Now the UK, there are a lot of CV writers emerging all over the show and whilst there is a lot of opinion on how to write the best marketing CV, there is definitely a trend emerging where CV for marketing employees needs to be short and concise and results based.

This is good and fair enough, but working in marketing is also a creative market and while the metrics will stand you in good stead, if you have been good at your marketing jobs in the past, the question is then, how does the marketer differentiate themselves from the competing marketer’s applying for the same jobs? How as a marketing person do I conform to today’s CV requirements but still highlight myself as good marketing person? As far as marketing jobs go, I am looking for work within online marketing, where my marketing skills will be called upon: affiliate marketing, SEO marketing, SEM marketing, web design, copy writing — these are all areas that I have had marketing training in and achievements to boast about.

If I am honest, I don’t know how to tackle the above issue and would welcome anyone who could help me tackle this issue with getting my marketing CV working correctly. Any help appreciated.

2012 jobs search strategy

The recession continues to bite in 2012, 5 years after the recession first bit. There are 2.5 million people unemployed in the UK. Except for Germany and China, things are not much better in the rest of Europe or the USA. The Far-East economies are running out of steam as the issues first with the USA and now Europe take their toll. While we all wait for the EU political and economic problems to un-wind, there is no doubt in anyone’s mind that we are not out the woods yet. The impact that this financial recession has had on the UK employment situation has been dire, with thousands not able to get jobs and people having to work much harder on their job search strategies to get the types of vacancies that they want.

Job search strategies for people living in London go under the major principle of getting your CV out there as quickly and as easily as possible. Use recruitment agencies, and job sites, registering with as many as possible. The strategy here is know and understand where in London you want to work, short-list the agencies that cover your industry sector and location. Approach them, send them your CV and request to be interviewed. Meet them and push them for the latest jobs in London that suit your skill level and experience. Ensure that you understand the distances you will need to travel. Remember that train and bus fares are looking to grow by 5.5% on average in 2012 — you might be keen to get any job but your salary could not be enough to pay for the travel costs associated with getting to your place of work. For example a train fare from Waterloo through to Dulwich is now costing £3.80 one way!

With job sites, there are generalist job sites and specialist jobs sites that may cater for your industry sector. Simply run some job searches online and find out which ones work best for you. Some might be tedious to register with, though it has been estimated by the ONREC that the average job site takes 9 minutes to register with, and that they average job seeker registers with 6 job sites. This might seem like a long tine when you run the math, but it is worth it. Thousands of recruitment agencies search through these job sites looking for candidates.

Did you know that the average person changes their career six times in their working life? There are many different reasons why a person would decide to switch careers– they may be laid off at their current job, a dream job may come along, people in a committed relationship may find themselves having to consider new prospects due to a change in location of the job of the other partner, or someone may just become plain bored in their current career, to the point where it feels like there is no point to the day. Career changes are not a bad thing, but they need to be planned according to the circumstances of your life, in such a way that you will still have the funds coming in which you need to survive.

Most of us will spend our lives hoping for the ideal job, but this will rarely materialize. The fact is, almost all jobs have their pitfalls– we may scoff at actors of musicians who complain about their long workdays or schedules, pointing to their pay checks, but the fact is that many jobs that offer lucrative incomes also entail a lot of dedication and hard work in order to get to the top. When you are defining your dream job, remember that almost every job comes with its downside, even if that downside is only the repetitiveness of the day.

A career change does not necessarily have to entail extensive retraining. Many people who have lost their jobs through layoffs or downsizing will find that their skills are still in demand, and that their experience is very useful in finding a new career. If you do not feel like retraining, consider a job with a different company where your skills fit. If you want to get right out of the corporate area, the odds are good that you can find a niche for yourself as an independent consultant or another area in which your expertise will add to your marketability.

Some people decide that they in fact do desire a total 360 degree turn from their current career path. In such circumstances, it is again best to begin by shopping the skills obtained at your former job only applied to new markets. You may also want to consider some retraining through college or university courses. There are many training courses available online, so people often do not even have to leave their homes in order to obtain the skills necessary to their new careers.

Whatever your decision, remember that it is always easier to find a new job when you are not desperate for one. Take the time to think through your decisions and applications carefully before severing ties with your current job; you may be ready for a change, but you will still have to eat in the meantime! In the event that your company has been downsized or other circumstance that has led to being laid off, find out if there are any contingency plans in place for retraining through the company or through any of the levels of government. This can provide a good financial buffer for that in-between time.

We all get stuck in ruts from time to time, and that happens on the job as well. You’ve thought about doing something different with your information technology jobs, but just haven’t quite gotten around to it yet. Sound familiar?

You can make 2006 the best year yet for your IT job. There are several simple steps you can take to accelerate your career — but you have to take the step, not just think about it!

Learn something new. One of the biggest reasons you get tired of your jobs is that you’re doing the same thing every day. If you happen to love what you do, that’s great, but if not it’s time to break out of the box. Besides, learning a new skill adds value to your career. If you’ve been doing server work for a long time, take the time to learn some Cisco skills. If you’re an Exchange specialist, learn some Linux skills.

Get certified. Not very many of us get to work for the same company for the rest of our IT careers. The only job security is the security you give yourself, and one of the ways to get that security is to add professional certifications to your resume. Certifications such as the MCSE and CCNA get you noticed and help you stand out from the crowd. Ask yourself what your CV would look like if you were laid off today, and then take steps to improve yourself and your professional standing.

Be prepared to take one step backwards in order to take multiple steps forward. You may be in a situation I was in a while back when my employer saw me as strictly a server guy. I wanted to get on the Cisco side of things, but there was this perception that I was “only a LAN guy”. I had to leave that company to get my shot. There was some short-term financial pain, but in the long run it was the best career move I’ve ever made.

People get typecast in every field. In his book “Often Wrong, Never In Doubt”, Donny Deutsch writes about a IT jobs candidate who wanted to become a junior ad executive, but couldn’t break in with his current employer — which was an ad agency! He was typecast in a support role, so he applied to other ad firms and was quickly hired.

Sometimes you have to look outside your current situation in order to create a new situation for yourself. Don’t be afraid to take a step backwards in order to open up new possibilities for yourself. There’s an amazing career out there, waiting for you — if you have the courage to make it and take it.

if you love IT, get the IT jobs that appeal, study for them and go for it! Good luck!

Could a car owner have custom car audio added to a vehicle with “lambo doors”? That question has popped into the head of a freelance writer in California. The writer has previously witnessed all of the operations involved in the process of adding custom car audio to a Jeep Cherokee. Now she has learned that car owners are being encouraged to get Lamborghini-like doors.

That freelance writer hesitates to imagine what she may next find in her driveway. In November of 2005 the writer found two young adult males using her driveway as the site for the addition of custom car audio. One of those two lads had taken a course on auto mechanics with the former instructor at Culver City High School, a school close to Sony studios. He had agreed to share his knowledge with the writer’s son. Hence, the two of them had commenced the long process required to complete a custom car audio job.

At one point the writer’s son called to his mother and invited her to come outside and to see for herself what her son and his friend were doing. What that writer saw was two car doors with the “stuffing” pulled out of them. The quest for a custom car audio system had led those two young men to place speakers in the doors of the Jeep Cherokee.

The two “stereo specialists” did not show the writer how they had wired the speakers to the power source and to the amplifier. Their failure to grant the writer a look at their wiring operations has caused that writer to now ponder on a particular question: Could a vehicle with car speakers in the doors also have “lambo doors”? In other words, could a car owner who enjoyed the sound delivered by custom car audio logically expect to add “lambo doors” to that same car?

The writer has seen pictures that show how the “lambo doors” swing upward, instead of swinging out. Wiring speakers into such doors would seem to present a real challenge. Could one have custom car audio in a car with such doors? One writer in California wants to know.

Job hunting can be stressful – trawling through the papers, browsing the internet, worrying about the state of your CV — but with just a little thought and planning, you could find yourself closer to your next job.

1. Get some advice

If you’re buying a house, you get advice; if you’re starting a business, you get advice; if you’re changing jobs, you just go ahead and do it. Once you’ve decided that you want a new job, why not take the time to get some advice? Find out which companies are growing, what sort of salaries are being offered for the sort of work you do and what prospects are available for someone with your skills or qualifications. Get impartial advice on your strengths and weaknesses and identify areas where some additional training or experience may be useful. By getting some advice before you look for a job, you will be better prepared to select the right job for you.

2. Sort out your CV – now!

There’s no shortage of CV advice and guidance on the internet, but a lot of people must be ignoring it because agencies and employers are still receiving lots of poorly written and planned CVs. Your CV is the first contact your future employer has with you, so it’s vital you make a good impression. If you’re not confident about producing your own CV, then invest in professional advice – it’s worth it if it helps you to get a better job in the long run.

3. Research

Once you’ve been called in for an interview, there’s no excuse for not being properly prepared. The more you know about the company, the more confident you will be at interview. Nearly every company has a website, and most will send you product and corporate information if you ask for it. This research will also allow you to ask informed questions at interview.

Follow these three basic steps and you should find yourself in a much better position when it comes to selecting and applying for your next job.

Just because you are a teen doesn’t mean you can’t find a good job to either help you through schooling or to get a few extra bucks for your various hobbies and needs. Here are a few tips on bagging a great teen job

Labour Laws

You, of course, have to follow the law. And there are various laws that govern teen employment across different states. Teens that are hired to do non-farm work will at least have to be fourteen years of age to be allowed to work. Here are a few other restrictions. You will have to do a little research in the state you are at to come up to date with the latest laws and regulations.

Teens that are aged 14 to 15 are only allowed to work three hours per day, and eighteen hours a wee. When there are no classes and during summer breaks, this amount may be increased to eight hours per day, 40 hours per week. Also work for teenagers of this age is limited to up to 7 o’clock p.m. within school days and 9 o’clock p.m. during summer breaks.

Employment Documents

In several states, when one has not reached the age of eighteen yet, it is required get working documents which are officially known as Certificate of Employment or Age to be allowed to work legally. Schools are good venues for one to acquire these important papers. The REC offers such service, too. Browse on the certification list for Age or Employment to know which rules apply to you. Your school’s Guidance Office can be of great help. One’s state office will assist greatly if one is directed to the REC.

Fantasy Jobs

Make sure you take a job you can maintain interest in. You might want to consider after-school programs and working with kids. Or you may want to work part time on the beach, recreational facilities, zoos and other areas. The important thing is that you choose a job that you enjoy and can perform in with the best of your capabilities. It is very important that you do your best in your job and pick one you truly enjoy, as your experience with this job could very well dictate your future career.

Job Search

Your high school guidance counselor may be able to assist you with finding a part-time job that is just right for you. Aside from having contacts among local businesses, they may also help you evaluate which jobs you will enjoy and excel at.

It is also a good idea to tell everyone you know that you are looking for work. Don’t underestimate your network of acquaintances. They may very well have other networks of acquaintances that may help you find good jobs.
